Let Bart Scott do the awkward thing on the set of ESPN’s “NFL Live.”
It all started when ESPN’s Dianna Russini described a conversation she had with Bills quarterback Josh Allen about the cold weather ahead for the Bills’ wild card game against the Patriots. Allen explained to Russini that he has “poor circulation,” which causes his toes to get cold quickly in sub-zero games.

It’s expected to be in the single digits at Buffalo on Saturday with a subzero wind chill, so Allen will have to find ways to stay warm on the sidelines. Russini was about to start explaining Allen’s preferred method of keeping warm when Scott intruded with some unsolicited advice.
“Can I give you a suggestion? Is Josh Allen listening? Can people send him this message? Vi-a-gra. Have a pregame viagra baby,” Scott said. That will make the circulation work properly.

That’s a Scott joke, right? No. He was serious about recommending that Allen take the little blue pill to keep warm.
“I swear, I’m not trying to be funny,” Scott said blankly.

Naturally, Scott’s advice created some chaos, as Damien Woody couldn’t stop laughing as Russini and the others on the show regrouped and tried to address Scott’s comments. Eventually, he got a chance to explain why he thought Allen should do that.
“A lot of NFL players, at least in my day, were taking Viagra to open up blood vessels,” Scott explained. “A lot of endurance athletes. Viagra was first a medicine for the heart, right? So it increases circulation, which ensures it reaches the feet.”

Scott on something? Currently, yes!
Scott has some reason that Viagra will improve circulation, but it only works in certain parts of the body. One area where it works is in the lungs; that is why it is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension. However, it is more commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction in men, so you can find out which part of the body gets the most blood flow from that use.
Harvard Medical School even published an article titled “Viagra Can Help Cold Hands and Feet.” with a focus on people with Raynaud’s syndrome. While Allen shared news of poor circulation in his feet, it is not known what diagnosis or treatment the Bills quarterback received for his ailment.
We’ll soon see how Allen plans to keep warm on Saturday night. Whether it’s standing next to the warmers on the touchline, as he told Russini he would, or taking Scott’s advice, the Bills need him to be in his best shape to defeat their divisional rival in their third meeting of the year.
