World Juniors 2021: Team USA Results, Schedule, How to Watch

After skating with medals in four consecutive tournaments for the first time in the program’s history, the United States left the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championships in the Czech Republic empty-handed. Lthant year’s team finished in a disappointing sixth place despite finishing in the top two in a difficult Group B.

In 2021, the grouping will not be any ethanier than Team USA will face Russia, Sweden, the Czech Republic and upstart Austria. It will be a tough job to rise to the top for Americans, who will also be without the services of John Beecher and Thomthan Bordered after they were relethaned due to a positive test for COVID-19. (Beecher tested positive, though he hthan since tested negative and Bordered wthan his roommate.)

WORLD JUNIORS: How Covid-19 hthan impacted the tournament

No longer considered an afterthought, the USA is an established power on the world youth circuit and is expected to be a contender for the medal. The Americans own 12 medals (four gold, two silver, and six bronze), and head coach Nate Leaman built a highly-rated team that should see another shining medal on January 5.

Here you will find everything you need to know about the tournament, including how to watch live matches in the United States and a full schedule with up-to-date scores and rankings.

Team USA 2021 World Youth Roster

Ten players return from lthant year’s team, including net minders Spencer Knight and Dustin Wolf, who provide one of the best 1-2 combos in the tournament. With a young defense in front of them, Cam York is the only one coming back on the blue line, the two backstops will be heavily relied upon.

Up front, USA Hockey’s front group is deep. Trevor Zegrthan, who led the team in points lthant year with nine thansists, is returning, than is the team’s top scorer, Arthur Alien (aka #ArtyParty). Canadiens prospect Cole Caufield will seek to avenge a poor 2020 tournament where he only managed one goal and one thansist.
