  • WWE MSG live event took place on Saturday evening (March 5)
  • Roman Reigns defeated Seth Rollins to retain his Universal Championship
  • Brock Lesnar defeated Austin Theory to keep his WWE Championship

WWE held a marquee event on the Road to Wrestlemania and top superstars put on a great show at the Madison Square Garden. Brock Lesnar was in the main event and defeated Austin Theory to retain his WWE Championship. Roman Reigns extended his title run and defeated Seth Rollins via submission to keep the Universal Championship.

Reigns sent a loud and clear message to Lesnar on the Road to Wrestlemania and attacked him following the main event. Since the show wasn’t streamed or televised, the WWE Universe missed out on witnessing the high-profile event. Before the superstars hit the road again for the Sunday’s show, here are major happenings from the MSG live event that you missed –

Roman Reigns waited for Brock Lesnar to retain the WWE Championship

At Royal Rumble 2022, Roman Reigns played a key role in Brock Lesnar losing his title as he attacked him during the match. But this wasn’t the case at the MSG event. He could have attacked Lesnar and helped Theory win the WWE Championship.

That didn’t happen at the MSG and the duo will be squaring off in the final match of Wrestlemania 38 now. Since both superstars hold the top championships, the winner of that match will walk out of the arena with two title belts.

Becky has often used the ropes to her advantage and pinned multiple superstars on her way to retaining the Raw Women’s Championship. At MSG, she didn’t use ropes to pin Rhea Ripley and instead stole Bianca Belair’s pin. The former Smackdown Women’s Champion was set to pin Rhea after hitting her with K.O.D.

Becky jumped in, sent Belair out of the ring and pinned Rhea without the help of the ropes. As of now, Becky is slated to face Belair at Wrestlemania and Rhea isn’t part of their match.
