For a while this manufacturer has been a little more timid when it comes to its laptop catalog but now it is once again encouraged and presents its latest models, the Xiaomi Book Pro 16 (2022) and Xiaomi Book Pro 14 (2022).
These laptops have a design that highlights the thinness and a screen that in the 16-inch model promises a lot thanks to its OLED touch panel and 4K resolution. It is certainly not the only novelty of these teams, of course, although we will have to be patient because its launch is limited to China for the time being.

on Xiaomi have once again taken advantage of the “wedge” format which became a reference design with the first MacBook Air. Apple has just abandoned that design language in its latest and most recent models, but the Chinese manufacturer maintains it for these teams.
That allows, among other things, to highlight again the thinness and lightness: at its thickest end the Xiaomi Book Pro 16 measures only 14.9 millimeterssomething that also allows you to cut the weight of this laptop.
The chassis is made of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy and gives the whole assembly a promising strength and lightness. The team has a generously sized touchpadand the full-size keyboard—no number pad despite the diagonal—has dimensions that seem comfortable to work on.
That touchpad seems especially remarkable: Xiaomi promises response times of just 5 ms and a soft-touch glass panel that improves touch area by 30% compared to the previous generation.
Long live OLED screens
The screen of the new Xiaomi Book Pro 16 (2022) is especially remarkable: we are facing an OLED touch panel with 4K resolutionsomething that of course is especially remarkable considering the 16-inch diagonal that is integrated into this team.
On that screen there is also a 3D LUT color correction system developed by Xiaomi that allows, depending on the manufacturer have a Delta E of 0.33. That value indicates that the color representation on this screen is especially remarkable.
Another of the outstanding options of that panel is its touch support, something that allows us to interact directly with the screen by touching it when we need it. This is not a convertible – the screen does not fold – and there has been no talk of stylus support, but that option is also attractive for various scenarios.
This laptop also has a curious feature: it is the first to has been accurately calibrated to the calibration of the new Xiaomi 12S Ultra, which makes the presentation of the images and their color exactly the same in each other. Dolby Vision support is another good news when it comes to enjoying high dynamic range content.
The screen is DisplayHDR400 certified, a brightness of up to 600 nitsa contrast of 1,000,000:1 and a support of 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut.
