Xiaomi cares a lot about the TV market. We don’t say it; what is stated, between the lines, by those responsible for this company in Spain. And its philosophy demonstrates it very clearly: the Xiaomi matrix only 100% responsible of the design and manufacture of smartphones, routers and the televisions.

The heart of this television is an LCD panel with peripheral LED backlighting, 4K UHD resolution and a native refresh rate of 60 Hz. Those responsible for Xiaomi in Spain have not yet been able to confirm if this matrix is of the VA or IPS type, but more Beyond this data we are reasonably sure that it is an 8 bit panel equipped with FRC technology, and not with a 10-bit matrix.

QD-OLED panels are the best thing that has happened to televisions: what certainties and uncertainties this technology leaves us

In the photographs that illustrate this article we can see that the top and side frames are very thin, which gives this television a careful aesthetic. In addition, to provide the panel with the stability it requires, bet on side feet very similar to those used by the Mi TV P1 and Mi TV 4S models. And to solve the interaction with the television, also like most of the proposals of this brand, it gives us a remote control with bluetooth connectivity.

One of the features that will allow this television to compete with guarantees in the mid-range is its ability to deal with all the HDR formats that we currently use: Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG. Probably its panel and its backlight are not going to give us the most impressive experience with this content, but it is a good idea that we are not forced to face a significant outlay to get a Dolby Vision-compatible television.

Fire TV is at the heart of the experience that this television offers us

Unlike the other televisions that Xiaomi has launched so far in Spain, this TV F2 does not bet on the combination of Android TV and PatchWall (this is the interface developed by the Chinese brand itself); incorporates Fire TV, the platform developed by Amazon. Of course, those responsible for the Spanish subsidiary of Xiaomi have assured us that the revision of this operating system that incorporates this television makes the most popular apps available to users today.

This television is capable of processing DTS-HD, DTS Virtual X and Dolby Audio sound, a versatility that, curiously, many high-end models do not offer us

As far as connectivity is concerned, all HDMI inputs implement the 2.0 standard, and not 2.1. However, on paper this television offers us a reasonably careful sound. Even more than some of the Xiaomi models that we have analyzed so far. In fact, it is capable of processing sound DTS-HD, DTS Virtual X and Dolby Audio, a versatility that, curiously, many high-end models do not offer us. It is a pity that this section has not been finished off in style by also giving us the possibility of processing Dolby Atmos audio.
