Purelymail pricing, explained

Purelymail costs $10 a year per account, not per user. On its simple pricing there are no hard limits on users, custom domains or storage. The limits are soft instead. If an account uses a lot more than $10 a year in storage and mail traffic, Purelymail may ask you to switch to advanced pricing, which is pay as you go. Purelymail says most users won't run into the soft limits.

A few other rules shape how you can use it. External sending is capped at about 3,000 emails a day, or 300 at once, and support can raise that. Marketing and advertising email aren't allowed, and neither are mailing lists. There's no free plan: a trial gives you a small amount of credit, which Purelymail says might last a month or so.

Neither charges per person. After that, they're built for different habits: Purelymail for people who read mail in a mail app, Digismak for a team working in one browser inbox.

Where Purelymail is the better pick

Price, first. A whole Purelymail account costs $10 a year, however many people and domains you add, as long as you stay inside the soft limits. Digismak's sending runs on Cloudflare's Workers Paid plan at $5 a month, which is $60 a year. If your Cloudflare account already pays for Workers Paid for other projects, that same plan covers Digismak's sending. If it doesn't, Purelymail is cheaper.

Then mail apps. Purelymail supports IMAP, POP3 and SMTP, so you can read your mail in Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird or your phone's mail app. It also syncs calendars and contacts through CalDAV and CardDAV. Digismak has none of that. It's an inbox you open in a browser.

What running on your own account means

Your mail records live in your own Cloudflare DNS, where you can see every one. Setup uses an API token you create, limited to that one domain, and you can delete it any time to cut off access. Your existing Email Routing rules keep working, because Digismak only adds a catch-all for addresses nothing else covers. If you stop using Digismak, delete the token, the relay Worker and the catch-all rule, and new mail follows your own routing rules again. Read more about email hosting on Cloudflare.

Setup is done for you. Digismak turns on Email Routing, adds the MX and SPF records and turns on Email Sending with DKIM. It adds a DMARC record if your domain has none, then sends a real test email through the whole path. It usually takes a few minutes, mostly Cloudflare verifying the domain. A team inbox with shared addresses, in the browser

Nobody on your team configures a mail app. Each person opens the inbox in a browser and signs in with a 6-digit code sent to the email they already use. Shared addresses like support@ and hello@ are free, and everyone on the team can read and answer them. Mail is grouped into conversations, and you see a live preview of each reply before it goes. What to know before choosing either

Purelymail

• It's run by a small team, in its own words: “as a small team, response times can vary”, and there's no 24/7 support staff. Help is mostly self-service docs and a Discord community, with paid priority support available.
• Scott Johnson built it and sold it to Add Rabbit LLC in March 2025. Purelymail says it has recently made efforts to hire new staff.
• Purelymail doesn't mention an app of its own. Its docs cover setting up other mail apps, and Roundcube works in the browser. Push doesn't work in the built-in iOS Mail app, and Purelymail explains why on its site.

Digismak

• It's in early access, and free while that lasts. The Cloudflare plan is paid to Cloudflare either way.
• It's browser only: no IMAP, POP or SMTP, and no calendar, contacts or file storage.
• Your domain's DNS must be on Cloudflare. Moving it there is free.
• It doesn't import old mail yet, so your old messages stay where they are.
• Outgoing attachments can be up to 3.5 MB per email, with up to 50 recipients per email.

Who should pick Purelymail, and who should pick Digismak

Pick Purelymail if the lowest price matters most, or if your team reads mail in Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird or a phone mail app. It also suits you if you want calendars and contacts synced, or if your domain isn't on Cloudflare.

Pick Digismak if your domain is on Cloudflare and you want the whole team in one browser inbox, with shared addresses several people answer. It suits teams who'd rather not set up a mail app on every laptop and phone, and who want sending and receiving to stay in their own Cloudflare account.
